How to Size a Snowboard Binding

Finding the right size of snowboard binding is critical to giving you the best connection between you and your board. Here are some questions you might have.

Is there a difference between mens and womens bindings?

Yes, in general women’s bindings are narrower and have lower highbacks. This will better fit women’s specific boots and the way women are built. If you put a women’s boot into a men’s binding you may have some wiggle size to side and the binding might feel like it “comes up too high” on the boot. Likewise, if you try to put a men’s boot into a women’s binding it will probably feel too narrow. Kids bindings are also designed to fit kids boots specifically.

Does it matter what brand of snowboard boots I have?

Our 5th Element bindings are designed to fit most major boot brands on the market and have lots of adjustments to do so. One thing to consider is that an older boot may be bulkier that a current boot and may require a larger binding than the boot size says. Fortunately our bindings fit 3-4 sizes with all of the adjustments.

What size do I need?

Use our size charts below to determine what size 5th Element snowboard binding you need. Sizes are based on our 5th Element snowboard boots but again any relatively new snowboard boot will follow this same chart.
